With thanks to Artem S. Tashkinov, here is a good article regarding choosing a Linux distribution which I can't really add much to. There are other distributions besides, but these are the top 4 for home PCs - easy to install, easy to use and well stocked with tools and applications to get you going straight away. (1426 Hits)Avast! Free Anti-Virus is a free anti-virus program available for Windows, Mac and Android. You can install and get essential protection for e-mail programs, web sites, local software and not to mention the sandbox mode for analysing how questionable programs will run without compromising your data.
A single yearly activation is required, but you don't need to give Avast! any information.
Please note: It is recommended to only run a single instance of one anti-virus program, as multiple real-time protection programs running will conflict and interfere with each other, resulting in poorer protection. Manual malware scanners, however, will not interfere with this real-time scanning.
